We had another session with out marriage counsellor yesterday. As usual we both got a lot out of it.
Last night I could not help but think about something that Max said during our session.
Charlie said "I just don't want to lose my girl."
Max responded with "You have already lost her. You are trying to win her back."
And as I got in my car yesterday and drove away I could not help but think how wrong both of them are.
The reality is Charlie gave me away. Like a piece of trash, he cast me aside and threw me on the pile
............and walked away.

That's interesting, Kate. I would have never thought of it that way, but I can see how you would.
I see your case more like when someone throws away a piece of paper by accident, only to later find himself frantically looking for it.
Your last sentence applies more to my situation. My husband walked away - but yours has come back to find you...
Sol girl thank you for putting that spin on it. You cannot begin to imagine how that has made me feel.
Thanks!
How insightful is Sol. Wow that is a cool analogy :)
Yeah that was great positive spin Solarisgal!
Hugs, Kate, I can't imagine myself in your place but I do believe deep in my heart that out of every bad thing something good comes.
Dear Kate- please don't forget that his affair was about him not about your worth at all! I love Sol's comparison. Charlie might have walked away physically, temporarily but it seems from his hanging in there all of this time- after walking back- he is telling you how much he values you. He might have lost a girl but now he has a fully emancipated and actualizing woman!
